Human Rights Defenders
Duration: 4-week program – 4-5 hours per week
Human rights defenders are people who have the courage to stand up against injustice. Follow their stories and the treats they face. Learn how they mitigate risks, identify the creative ways they use to speak up and discover what drives them to take action. Learn what defenders can achieve and explore how you can use your voice to defend your rights and those of others. Foreign travel expands your horizons. Being away from your home increases the ability to grasp the nuances of other cultures and to recognize human strife.
This Amnesty International Human Rights Defender course, taken concurrently or consecutively with the Human Rights and Refugees program, enables you to use your knowledge to help others both professionally and personally. Be prepared for active learning, connecting with course participants from across the world and becoming part of a global community dedicated to taking action to defend human rights everywhere.
